Service Description:

Streams and other drainage features in Wyandotte County. This is a linear surface water flowline dataset. In ESRI GIS format in Kansas North State Plane NAD83, units feet, suitable for use at 1:1200 map scale or smaller. This dataset depicts all streams, creeks, and other water drainage flow lines visible from aerial photography or LiDAR imagery, regardless of whether water flow is perennial or intermittent (go dry during certain times). No rivers included. Limited linear feature network information (segment from-to drainage flow directions) is present. Significant water discharge structure alignments (culverts, pipes) in streams are included, as well as stream-spanning bridges.

Flow direction is indicated by from-to direction of digitized line segments. Line topology is present with stream segment nodes connecting where intersections should occur. Flowline types are used according to NHD categories, e.g. perennial stream, intermittent stream, canal or ditch, etc.. No Z-values are included. Named stream segments contain a name in NAME field, e.g. Conner Creek.

Also included are waterbody (lake and pond) flowline segments that indicate path of waterflow where stream linear routes are interrupted by waterbodies. The corresponding lake_py data layer coordinates with this layer accordingly.
